Why use our Event QR Code Generator?
An event QR code saves your guests the hassle of manually entering date, time, and location into their calendar. A single scan creates a complete calendar event on their phone. Use it on invitations, posters, social graphics, and event websites. You can also create a URL QR code linking to your event landing page for additional details and ticket purchase links.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Event QR code?
An event QR code encodes event details — title, start/end date and time, location, and description — in the iCalendar (VCALENDAR) format. When scanned, the phone recognizes the format and prompts the user to add the event to their calendar app (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, etc.).
Can people save the event to their calendar?
Yes. The QR code uses the standard iCalendar format. On iPhone, the Camera app recognizes it and offers to add it to Calendar. On Android, most camera apps or Google Lens handle it. The event is saved with title, date, time, location, and any description you include.
What details should I include?
At minimum, include the event title, start date and time, and end date and time. Adding a location helps guests find the venue. A description can include dress code, parking tips, or a link to more info. An event URL is useful for RSVP pages or ticketing.
Can I use it for invitations, posters, and flyers?
Absolutely. Download as SVG for the best print quality at any scale. Place the QR code on printed invitations, event posters, conference badges, or digital social media graphics.
What happens if the event time changes?
Static QR codes encode fixed data. If the time changes, regenerate the QR code with the updated details and redistribute it. For events where details may change frequently, consider a dynamic QR service that uses a redirect to an updateable page.
Is my event data stored on DecoToolkit servers?
No. All encoding happens locally in your browser. Your event title, dates, and location are never sent to our servers or any third party.
